A Little About Victor Barrett

Hi,

I wrote this biography for one reason. What is it? Simple: The only emails I look forward to getting are from people who I feel I know personally.

There’s nothing worse than a stranger hitting up your inbox!

Listen. Information alone won’t help you succeed with search engine optimization and internet marketing in general. Why? Well, there is far too much of it. So besides getting information, you need to be able to get that information from a reliable source.

In other words…

Someone you trust!

What I discovered was when I would get on someone’s email list, I’d usually end up unsubscribing simply because I didn’t trust their information…. or them! To me, they were nothing more than a name on my computer screen.

Who was that person on the other end? What did they stand for, and what they against? Why are they in internet marketing? What’s their story?

With that in mind let me share a little bit about myself, so I’m not just another name on your screen. I am doing this because I truly feel I have some outstanding strategies that could change your life, and I am going to do everything I can to get you to read about them, and more importantly…

Act on them!

I am currently an affiliate marketer and internet marketing consultant to small businesses. I have been doing search engine optimization for a number of years, and have had my fair share of failures and successes. When I was starting out in internet marketing, I learnt that SEO was one of the most effective ways to get online visitors, who can become leads and then customers. I also found the thought of doing Pay Per Click marketing quite exciting, putting up ads on Google instantly, and cashing in. But it does not work like that. PPC costs can skyrocket without any sales happening. I wanted a way in which I could constantly get traffic without having to pay for each click.

While I was learning SEO, I was working at a bank. I would go there every day 9 to 5, and come home dreadfully tired. Sometimes, I would sit on the couch and watch TV. But then I realized that I was not taking action. During many nights and weekends, I devoted myself to learning the art and science of SEO so that I could get more search engine traffic and grow my online income.

It was quite a journey learning about SEO. At the beginning, I thought that it was simple as putting your keyword in some places in the web page, and then the web page would magically appear on the first page of Google. Boy, I was so wrong. I learnt that optimizing your web pages is only 20% of the battle. 80% of the battle was in getting backlinks – links pointing back to your site.

I learnt about contacting webmasters to ask them to put links to my websites on their websites, writing and distributing articles, social bookmarking, forum posting, making and distributing videos, making press releases and blog commenting – there were so many ways to get your back links.

At first, being new to the internet marketing scene, I was so stingy. I didn’t want to spend money on anything other than my domain, hosting, and auto-responder. I thought that I would only spend money on other tools once I saw some money coming in from my websites. It was a couple of months before I got my first affiliate commission – $14. Just a bit than enough to cover the cost of my domain.

There was one important lesson I learnt about internet marketing. Free is not exactly free. There is no such thing as free traffic. To get ‘free’ traffic, you need to spend time. To get on the first page of Google and get the search engine traffic, you need to spend time optimizing your web pages, creating and distributing content, and building back links.

And spending time without any tools can be a very dreadful experience. I was doing almost everything manually. And the work can be so tedious and repetitive – keyword research, on-page optimization, back link building, rank checking. I have had my fair share of challenging moments.

What really accelerated my business was me investing in tools and outsourcing. I found software – desktop and web based that made SEO a lot easier. It would multiply the work I did with the same amount of input from me. I found it easier to get tasks done and grow my online income. Also, I hired contractors to write articles for me, so I could focus more on running my business. Another thing I did was to subscribe to link building services such as Blogging Underground that made increasing my search engine rankings a much easier task.

For my first website, I never got on the first page of Google. I was still new, and had little idea about what I was doing. With my second website, I got the help of internet marketing mentors, and within weeks I got my first top ten ranking on Google for a new website.

I am now proud to say that I have many first page rankings on Google that I can be proud of. Just Google “seo software review” or “seo ranking software”, and you will find this website on the first page. It looked impossible to get on the first page in the beginning, but it just keeps getting easier and easier. Believe me, it’s a good feeling when you see your website in the top ten search engine results.

I want to help you succeed in getting on the first page of Google, getting more search engine traffic, and increasing your sales. I will be sending you resources and offers to accelerate the achievement of your success.

Regards,

Victor Barrett
